Every Spring, Southwestern Iron Works inGuthrie, Oklahoma sponsors a "Tailgate Swap Meet and Show" slanted towards hobby metal workers of all kinds.
Southwestern Ironworks is a turn of the previous century foundry, fab and pattern shops, sheetmetal shop and blacksmith shop which has become the property of and a gigantic restoration project for David King of Edmond, Oklahoma. During this event, David opens the doors to visitors, swappers, sellers, buyers, demonstrations, gawkers and whoever else wants to see how shopwork was done long ago. I absolutely certify there is something there for everyone.
The Swap Meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th this year. It opens at 8:00 am and closes when everyone leaves. Sometimes that can be mid-afternoon so don't get there too late. The old foundry and grounds are on the northwest edge of Guthrie at 320 West College. Gutherie is the former state capitol of Oklahoma and has turned into quite a tourist (and locals) attraction with dozens of neat shops and even more good places to eat.
These snapshots from last year should give you some idea of what is available for your prowling, fondling, lusting and curiosity.
